Ministry of Culture’s Human Rights Award for film:

"..both an aesthetic and philosophical examination of a human rights dilemma. The filmmaker tells the story without resorting to traditional methods but creates new contemplative space through its innovative narrative technique. And the result is a subtle but nonetheless close and captivating portrayal of the situation of a paperless refugee.."


The prize money, which is given by the same Norwegian Government which is partly responsible for Emanuel’s ongoing situation, is passed on by Thomas Østbye to a fund for Emanuel’s education.

Finished shooting 17.000 Islands.

Indonesian director Edwin and I finished shooting the collaborative project 17.000 Islands, in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah Jakarta Indonesia. A project sponsored by DOX:LAB.




Shooting in Taiwan, Java and Borneo

for the new film “Things” which just received support from NFI, and doing research for a new documentary project, and a new video installation.
